Something that didn’t work

Tried a double maceration on Pacific – coconut steeped for 48 hours instead of the usual 12 – then ran it through vapour as normal.

Result was flat. All the coconut character moved into the body but the top notes disappeared completely. No lift, no salinity. Just a heavy, one-dimensional spirit that tasted like it was trying too hard.

Poured it out. Back to 12 hours. Some things don’t improve with more time.
